I like the supernatural connection with the universe, clearly displayed by the vertical helos emanating from these anglers heads 😊. They nicely mirror the reflections of the pillars in the water. (Did you try stand- development here?)

wow! It's as if we could have been dropped into that scene.

Thank you. I was amazed myself, and am very happy how the Double-X film handled the situation. I am also quite fond of how the light sources are rendered - and how one of the protagonists seemingly levitates… 😁

Nice John. Looks like you had a productive walk to Half Moon Bay - though your bag must have been extremely heavy!

I took the following picture ten years ago after the mooring pier attached to that same jetty was trashed by a very wild winter storm:

broken jetty, half moon bay 2014

mamiya 7ii, 50mm, FP4+, car headlights

Great shot of the damaged jetty. I remember that. Now there is a metal reconstruction that does not feel like a real jetty. As for my Blad kit. I sling the body on a Peak Design shoulder strap, and attach several lenses to a special belt with pouches. It is hands free travel and lower centre of gravity. But still has  instability when climbing the Red Bluff Cliffs. I'm getting too old for much more of this.

One can imagine what this jetty has seen. Magical. The light in the night is alchemy.

That's wonderful, Phil. Car lights were a great idea, and I can see why you championed the 50mm!

I have photos of that as well, but digital (before I saw the light).

Thank you John. I truly admire your determination in a doing a photo walk like that - Sandringham to Half Moon Bay (and back!) is a very pleasant walk but not especially easy even unencumbered by loads of gear. That you returned with such inspiring photographs is testament to your skill and determination. And, yes, the trend to replace things of character with uninspired and uninspiring structures is food for serious thought.

Thank you Rog. I was rapt when I saw the negatives. I think the exposures were all around 10 - 15 minutes and the FP4+ held up beautifully in both the shadows and highlights. I agree that the moonlit sky between clouds really did enhance the overall scene.

Thank you Ken. I have to say that car lights were essential, as without them I could hardly see a thing. I was just relieved all the parking officers had knocked off for the day! And I wasn’t kidding about that Mamiya 50mm lens - an absolute stunner!

Wait, What! You have photos from here? Were you in Melbourne at that time?
