gbealnz Posted December 7, 2015 Share #8333 Posted December 7, 2015 Indeed Trev, Hobbiton, a short distance from where I live. And given the lush green grass, the T shots, in colour actually looked "nicer". Shame I only had B&W film with me, the Doc will be grumpy. Best Henry Yes Henry, Minolta 5400 II with Vuescan. Not blaming the equipment, the issue lies with me, I am flummoxing about hoping it comes out OK. Someone described scanning as a "black art", and I believe them. Once the busy season is over for me, and the nights start getting longer I will crank the darkroom up and print some. I am also finding a noticeable white line across many (maybe all) of my scans. Initially I figured it a scratch, from the cassette, or perhaps my wet finger squeegie, but this today's film has it as well. Clones out, but a pain just the same. You can see it plainly in the top picture of the two I posted, about a quarter way down from the top, runing horizontal. Gary

Gary Gary, yes I see the line , it happens from time to time on the Minolta scanner or another brand. This come from one dust on the sensor of the scanner. I saw that on our Leica French (I'll try to find the link) He wanted to clean himself but then deregulated its scanner.....so I do not advise you to do. Do not disassemble the scanner itself, but perhaps try an air blower on the sensor. otherwise the after sale service , if there is in NZ Best Henry Here is the link (14th post : dust and line and 15th post after an air blower) http://www.chassimages.com/forum/index.php?topic=242544.0 Edited December 7, 2015 by Doc Henry
philipus Posted December 7, 2015 Share #8339 Posted December 7, 2015 Apologies for my absence; it's that time of the year. It's nice to see the thread developing so vigorously with such great photography and nice exchanges of knowledge. I'm slowly scanning my way through the backlog, estimated completion date end next year At the Bijenkorf in The Hague.
