tookaphotoof Posted November 23, 2015 Share #8002 Posted November 23, 2015 Absolutely lovely photo! Haven't been on the forum quite a while. Actually, hardly been shooting at all due to my hectic schedule. Hopefully things will change for the better...
A miller Posted November 23, 2015 Share #8003 Posted November 23, 2015 This reminds me of that Planet Earth episode with the bizarre Tibetan Fox and Attenborough's comment "But why the square head?" On a more serious note, Diafine is one heck of a developer which gives very easy-to-scan negatives. Flickr M4 50/2 (11817) 5222@200 I'll bet that Vivian Maier would wish that she could have taken that photo...
sblitz Posted November 23, 2015 Share #8004 Posted November 23, 2015 From Central Park looking south EKTAR Nice Adam -- but I hate that new apartment tower....so ugly and out of place and for what is essentially a too tall post office box for non-US residents. Perhaps someday it turn into something that add the city's economy other than what it adds during construction.
A miller Posted November 23, 2015 Share #8005 Posted November 23, 2015 Very funny, Steve. I take it that you are not a fan of the new 'billionaire's row" that is in process...which is understandable.

Guest Posted November 23, 2015 Share #8012 Posted November 23, 2015 Incidentally, I'm now winding my XP2 down (I bought a big block a couple of months ago, ready for my switch to Ilford HP5. Been experimenting with night low light street (no flash, not to scare the wildlife) and whilst a combination of modest pushing, film exposure latitude, wide lens, wide aperture, and forgiving film (sometimes) works, the reality is that XP2 doesn't float my boat when the majority of the picture's in black. Might take a while, but shall revert back here with my efforts later on. Ric

Ric I would throw Tri-X into the mix; you might find the HP5 to be too grainy and have less resolution than Tri-X, no matter the latitude. I look to the HP5 for those classic old world shots and also for fog. But for the regular street shooting it doesn't give me the clean details that I look for. Just my 2 pence... Kleinkamera Posted November 24, 2015 Share #8014 Posted November 24, 2015 a picture that I took in Wetzlar with my Leica MP and the TMAX 400: Wetzlar on film by Dirk Raffel, auf Flickr That place hasn't changed much since old Oskar Barnack stood in that spot with his camera, eh? Kleinkamera Posted November 24, 2015 Share #8015 Posted November 24, 2015 we spent our recent honeymoon on the Faroe islands and due to going by car I opted to shoot medium format slides with my Pentax 645N instead of bringing the smaller, lighter Leica gear. Provia 100F scanned on a Plustek OpticFilm 120 (what a superb machine this is!). Flickr introduces some sharpnening and I sized it down somewhat for the upload, but I think the quality is still visible. Path to Leyrvík by Bernhard Kreuz, on Flickr wow… beautiful! And now I must add the Faroe Islands to a list of places I'd like to visit! James
Kleinkamera Posted November 24, 2015 Share #8016 Posted November 24, 2015 From Central Park looking south EKTAR Really nice, Adam! You picked a great spot for this one. That city view combined with the foreground waterfowl is superb. You can even see the Pan-Am, um, MetLife building in there… James

Here are a couple of more for consideration.... Tmax 400 with a red filter for dramatic effect (and the branches creeping in to fill the dead space in the sky and somewhat mimic the specks of the ducks below).. Welcome, dear visitor!
