Nice shot! Also very smooth FP4, my FP4 is always (too) contrasty.

I agree, and the photo shows it was well worth to carry the Makina along...

Further history in the obstinacy of red.

Yes, Rog. Red is a very obstinate color. But your subtle shades tame it--and the abrasions on the hinge do the rest to make it accessible ... I like this color field. My imagination puts it on a  wall ( 5 by 8 m ) of the entrance of a large office building. Walls and floors all gray, the only other thing that is red is  the lipstick of the desk attendants, matching of course..  .... . Just to set the tone...

Xicara, i like the classical frame and the unexcited, can I call it documentary style ... ?  I tried to find out more about the Ilford Pan 100-- it seems not to be available in Germany and Ilford doesn't even mention it on their site... from your results i guess it is a nice film for special markets...

Plus some tweaks in LR and Silver Efex Pro2 (Is that allowed in a pure film forum?)

That's a fine result  you tweaked out of Silver Efex. And as the saying is: the goal justifies the means..

and boys on the beach  enjoying the end of the summer I presume. And a photographer his new camera. Great result, Phil. I like it how you guide the viewer in a zig-zag through the scene. Waiting for more.

The XPan is a dream of a camera. There you are I’ll probably dream of ownership tonight, starting shortly. 😊

I like seeing sprocket holes too, definitely shows the heritage of the medium.

Hi Klaus, Not sure of the style. For me, each photo is little exercise in composition while I'm on a walk. Perhaps a bit of "saudade" is involved for my mother and her landscape photos. They were contact prints made with a medium format folder in the early 50s. I don't have the camera but  do have the frames she used to put white borders on the prints. Bought an Agfa Billy to do the same but something is wrong with the focus...  Apparently Pan 100 is available in the UK, not surprisingly, but I understand that it is made with lower tolerances for regional markets. On the flickr group for the film, there are a lot of Asian photographers using it. First time that I've used it. Just a bit more expensive than Fomapan 100 but I like it much more. No imperfections in the emulsion, nice blacks and the film stock is good quality like Ilford's other films. Fomapan curls up like mad! Cheers
