Steve Ricoh Posted November 11, 2017 Share #42444 Posted November 11, 2017 above was tri-x for those keeping score and below is a sequence of three shots towards the end of the nyc marathon ... co-worker was waiting for her friend to come by just before entering Central Park holding a sign made by her kids (obviously I overheard the conversation while shooting) .... this is a lot of what the marathon is really all about ... people pushing themselves and friends/family support them ... all around a wonderful nyc day .. Great shots with superb sooty blacks!

chrism Posted November 11, 2017 Share #42446 Posted November 11, 2017 just curious ...... there seem to be a lot of non Leica images on this thread ..... which appears to be forbidden elsewhere ....... We have permission from the owner of the forum to post photographs from non-Leica cameras in this thread, as long as they are taken on film. So feel free to join in! Michael Hiles Posted November 11, 2017 Share #42448 Posted November 11, 2017 This is close to a small village called Pointe-au-Persil, Québec, in the Charlevoix region. These small villages were once dedicated to fishing - and they were remote from the centres like the Ville de Québec and Montreal. Like small coastal villages everywhere they are worth a visit. The atmosphere is quietly wonderful. Life still centres on the river, where one of the attractions is an excursion into the Gulf of St Lawrence for whale watching. The museums focus on vieux Québec, and there are no Picassos or Rembrandts. But there is good music, with a variety of festivals that draw excellent musicians. Welcome, dear visitor! sblitz Posted November 11, 2017 Share #42452 Posted November 11, 2017 I'm a novice 100%+ through and through, I've heard Tri X better for blacks. Not sure about that, but love deep blacks. Old saw is HP5 gives you more in the shadows and TriX in the highlights. HP5 is a broad array of grays which, when scanning, gives you more latitude to create higher contrast pictures. But to my eyes TriX pops a little more right out of the camera. I am assuming here you are scanning negatives. Lots of debate online but it comes down to taste. Try a few roles of each and see what u like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

fotomas Posted November 11, 2017 Share #42454 Posted November 11, 2017 Today two old Fuji HR100 S. This was exposed by accident with 800 ASA and developed with a special push process. However the negatives are close to transparent. It is incredible what you can squeeze out of it with a scanner today. Welcome, dear visitor!
