That was the Summicron 90 at closest distance, around 0.7m.

I'm not so averse to converting colour to B&W, and considering the lengths people have gone to in the darkroom with alternative processes and toning, I think one could make a decent case that analogue workflow has often involved some black magic to transform what was on the film into something rather different!

Here's my wonderful coffee machine - a Saeco Vienna Plus. Whole beans and water go in the top, and the best coffee I've ever had comes out at the bottom. The kettle and teapot belong to Pippa, who actually prefers that dreadful stuff. (MP, Summarit 35, Neopan 400, HC-110, Flextight 848 scan):

Love the painterly greens, Christoph.  This film appears to be high risk/high reward.   I has paid off for you.  :).  I'd have to find the right moment and vision to jump in and take the plunge.

Beautiful.  Reminds me of a screen shot from a 1980's soap opera episode :)  Love the colors and deep contrast.

Just scanned this to join the Portra party.

Very nice photos; welcome and look forward to seeing more!

Dear all,

I just discovered this thread thanks to my friend "Doc Henry". What a lot of beautiful photos !

I use a Leica M6 TTL since 3 years after using a Leica R5 during 5 years). As I also use a Leica M8 and a Leica Q, I don't shoot a lot with my analogue camera (I am ashamed but I only used about 5 or 6 rolls during the 3 last years).

I love my Leica M6 TTL but I meet difficulties for the scan and the post traitment. But Heny encourages me to persevere and when I see all the your images I think he is right !

Really like the first one.  Great colors!  Reminds me of the Implosion film that Christoph has been sharing.

Finally got around to more developing and printing. :)

These are both Lomo 400 film shot with Olympus Trip 35, developed in Jobo CPE-2 at 100f and printed in a Jobo tube on a Unicolor roller base at 8x10.

Picture #1 is the fog in the morning on the way to work.

Picture #2 is me on the 4th of July this year.

Majestic, Michael.  Congrats!

Great Wall of China at Mitianyu. This is a part of the Great Wall that has been restored. It is not the most popular site for visitors to Beijing, but is well worth the small extra drive.

Looks like you and the Portra 400 are getting along just fine.  Enjoy it - it's great film

My first results with Portra 400 - so far, I'm inclined to want to keep using slide film if I can get some in after my freezer stock is deleted.

It's been one of the longest catch-ups I've ever had on this thread.  I ran out of "thanks" on page 1910!

Some early morning cows as well, Henry. Yes, it is Portra.

SUPERB "contre-jour" picture Ian .... and you want to abandon color ?

Look at the details and color in the shadows !

Make a comparison with digital and you'll see the difference

Thank you Ian
