Keith,

Is Hinton Manor in the new railway museum? I was taken to see her stablemate, Cookham Manor, when I was a toddler when she was the last locomotive to pass through Chiseldon on the old Midland and South Western Junction Railway. Just a vague memory of the platform in front of The Elm Tree pub and clouds of steam!

Thanks, Edward!

Crazy colors! Great work Adam!

Me too :)

Gosh, made my eyes go all funny!

These are really clean and lovely results, Keith.   The second is a killer!

A few years ago, a new neighbour spying me with one of my Leicas over my shoulder said "ah, I see you are into vintage cameras" (!) "I was just about to throw out this bag of old camera stuff - would you like it?"  One of the items was a pristine-looking Olympus OM2n with 50mm Zuiko Auto-S lens - and yesterday I put a roll of Acros 100 through it...

Many thanks.  Indeed it had that unique look :)

Boom! I thought that was Velvia even before reading your description.

Talk about color - wow!  Can't wait for the new release of Ektachrome later this year!

Really nice and clean results, Keith.

A slightly lengthy post.  Earlier this week I posted on the 'R Forum' that I was considering adding a Leica SLR to my armoury by buying an R-E or R5 plus possibly a 35-70mm f3.5 or 60mm f2.8.  Then I realised I had a pristine Olympus OM2n sitting on the shelf.  On Friday I put a roll of Acros100 through it (see earlier post for first results - post #36215) and they, plus the ones below leave me in something of a quandary.  What will I gain from the Leica glass over and above that from the Zuiko 50mm f1.8? Probably better bokeh.  More 'character'?  'Glow'?  How does one assign value to such undefinable terms?  For the price of just the R5 I could buy enough colour film to keep me going for years!   Add in the price of a Leica R lens and I could buy just about all Zuiko OM lens on the the market!

Could  be interesting to have another go at it some natural skimming light unless the support/wall is extremely flat !

I just point and shoot - so please, help me explain what that would do!

Judging from those I'd just stick with the OM2, Wow!

Very nice colours gnuyork - what is the film E100VS??

Regards Paul Mac

Kodak Ektachrome E100VS as from google.

Yes, this is Kodak Ektachrome. They had E100S E100SW And E100VS if I recall. The S was saturated, the SW was warm saturated, the VS was very saturated...I think thats what they were. I've used the SW (I think), and I prefer the VS. To me the VS is lifelike to what my eye sees.

It's long gone now (sadly), but I still have a stock of it in my freezer in 35mmm and 4x5, maybe even 120 actually.

If not camera, and it is probably not, I figure it must be related to development, e.g. improper agitation, as it is not pervasive throughout all photos/negatives. It may be related to my habit of stand developing. I shot a roll of HP5 this morning and have decided to develop it in HC-110....And not through use of stand developing technique. I should know shortly.

Wayne if not on all the negative and at the same place, I think like you , it's development , developer or also fixer

Agreed on the cropping.

Excellent set - just love the tones, colours and textures of the second image.
