Huka!

Yep, huge amount of water.

I always get a kick out of taking passengers past Huka (from above) and showing them the pristine clear blue water. Especially if the rest of the flight goes to Auckland. The river at the Auckland end is wider, slower, and definitely not as pristine white/blue. It's a very marked contrast.

Right on, Gary.  If I had to live with only one slide film stock it would be the Provia 100F as it is the most versatile.  And this example proves that it can be made to not be so far off from Velvia 50.

Very interesting comparison of the two slide films, thanks Adam. What you think about Agfa ct 100 precisa?

I seem to recall that the Ambrose Light was the traditional start or finish point (depending upon direction) of the Blue Riband transatlantic 'race'.

Hello Ian,

It marks the Ambrose Channel not too far from Sandy Hook, N.J.. Which also has its own Light House.

Best Regards,

Michael

On top of the white cliffs at Dover. Portra 400 and usual 28 Summaron-M. I didn't see when taking the photograph the outstretched arm of the figure in the middle – presumably imploring the figure running towards the cliff edge to stop. :)

So often I think of Ralph Vaughan Williams when I view your images. Such a picturesque land. You do it justice.

Brendan - one of your best. You use that LTM Canon lens so very well!

Brendan , nice geometric form , seen in relief on my Eizo screen

Very nice composition with building in background;

The Canon 50 f 1.4 is one the best lens of Canon

Thank you

Henry

Thank you both!  The Canon 50/1.4 LTM is an excellent lens, though I find myself using the Planar more often now.

Man, been a while since I posted on this forum.

Started on digital (epson R-D1, leica M8, leica M9-P), then decided to pursue film for several reasons.  Don't regret the decision.  Have a black chrome M7 and a silver MP and love them both to death.

These are two of my favorite shots taken from a recent trip to Tokyo, JP.  Next is to start shooting B&W and making my own silver gelatin prints - saw one in person and it was something else!
