For an interesting comparison of MM vs Tri-X shots in the NYC snow (from last year), take a look at post #549 here:

http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/forum-zur-leica-m9/294008-monochrome-beispielbilder-28.html

apologies; I just remembered that my B&W film shots posted in the link above were from portra 400 converted to B&W - not Tr-X.

Thanks Adam. Very interesting :)

The scale gradation of grey is not similar between digital and film :)

Probably as I said about "fog pictures" *** posted above , because of "smoothing"

Anyway, there is the "sensual" side (nude photos posted) missing

....forgot to say that in digital and b&w photo , the M8 (or DMR CCD for color) gives the picture

that "approximates" the film but still has the "smooth" side edges and gradation scale of black ,

grey missing , because of camera smoothing software !

demonstration .... :)

relief effect and perspective , because of progressive scale gradation of gray and black

and film grain reproduces well micro droplets of fog , no smoothing fog

Nevertheless Adam, with these series the eye and all the skills of the photographer are so much more important than the differences between the materials used. Topclass streetphotography!!

Fog and film a great symbiosis

the shade, the shade

the subtlety is what is missing in the digital :)

I think the only film shots will be from disposable cameras that we will leave on tables, my Leica friend doesn't want to use his film cameras so he is going to shoot colour with his M9 and b+w with his M8

Gary so it's good

.... but archiving digital not sure keep long

The preparations , wedding dress groom back and marriée ... married parents asked me to take pictures of intimate

preparations and also wedding ceremony :) . I also took pictures with my M9 and M8 but parents prefer in film for color

If you want more, and if you like them, I'll post you other :)

I also took my M8 and M9 but the colors are more accurate with film :)

The sensor does not like too much sun and 41 ° C

While Adam shows us his "decisive moment" photographic talents,

I make you discover a particular world, nothing to do with Europe , even

comparing with Amsterdam, here is the wonderful world of bicycles by

thousands or millions :)
