^ Glad you did (come back), the motion blur of the traffic works perfectly with the artwork, love it!

How is the SWC in practical use? Do the focussing/viewfinder limitations make it too awkward to use handheld?

I am often tempted. I already have and love a 50mm on my 203 Hasselblad body but know that for me when it gets very wide, I prefer handholding over a tripod.

Philip posted above a photo of his hard disk in b&w , here a tape reading head block

of my tape recorder. Not needed digital cam for that and picture is nicer with deep black :)

Wonderful grey tones and that deep black, Henry :)

Makes me longing for a return to b&w.

For now, I'm stuck with colour on a longtime project with my XPan.

Oh well, later...

Best, Xenia

Thank you Xenia

I think you'll return soon to b&w :D

It's so nice in film

Look at this picture in b&w Kodak TMAX

Hurricane weather that day in Reunion Island (Indian Ocean)

Black and White film reproduces very well this "dramatic" atmosphere.

Clouds are made by microdroplets of water with grain of film a great symbiosis ! :)

....  like fog : no "smoothing" square pixels by camera photo software giving

a "plastified"  aspect of clouds and fog

In foreground , sugar cane in the wind
