Hi Meri glad to welcome you in this thread on page 1000  :)

I had Epson V500 too and after V700 . It's good flatbed scanners.

Gary'll agree with me.

Permit me to correct the photo a bit : setting the white balance (WB) in LR + some brilliance

and the picture is sharper  . It's not your RF fault  IMO

I have also a M8 and film is nicer in color  in comparison

Your picture reminds me London market.

Hi Henry,

Thanks for taking the time to help me! It is Bristol actually ;-)

So if I get you correctly, it's more a thing of the lower contrast of a V2-type 'cron in combination with film what makes it appear as being not sharp? I'm new to film, and too young to know from the past... When using Ilford PanF-50 it's still not too sharp. Or could it be I have to get my exposure better? (I use the MR-4 which I calibrated with a Gossen Digisix, but I'm not too carefull in my exposers...)

Hi Meri as I said above I just adjust the WB and add some brilliance or luminosity.

You can have a lower contrast  when you are in bad light condition, so you can use

high Isos film like TX400 per ex.In this condition sometimes I push the film to 800.

For the good contrast you need light like in my ballon pictures.

With PanF 50 isos (low isos) but fine grain when you enlarge , have the light is better !

Bravo for your initiative to shoot film  :) . You will see that you will not be disappointed

by the quality of film contrary to what is said !

Wonderful b&w picture , well balanced in black and grey tone

The picture is very well exposed IMO. You have one of the best brand for exposure metering.

The film is more forgiving measurement errors compared to digital sensor .

Thanks for posting Meri

Here your picture a bit corrected in LR as I said above. :)

I base myself on the "stone" of the Senate building at the bottom , the "red flag"

and the skin of demonstrators. The light blue cast is removed.

What do you think ?

I hope you do not mind

Henry,

any advice, examples and suggestions for improving the image processing are most welcome, as edits to the uploaded photos.

The faces are now much better represented, clearer and brighter.
That now some details of the Capitol have been lost, are likely due to the limitations of 500KB for settings here on the forum.
Maybe I manage a successful combination in accordance with your recommendations to the original scan.
Thank you so much!

Hi Henry,

St. Julien is between Bordeaux and Biarritz in France....

CHM100 is the film from from Fotoimpex in Berlin....the cheapest one that you can buy in Germany at this time....it is a Kentmere 100, same as the Agfa APX new....I have to scan to more rolls.....

Hello MerijnvZ,

Welcome to he Forum.

Could I ask a few questions about your very nice picture?

First: Lens, film, camera, etc: Are all OK.

Next: What speed was the shutter set at? What was the aperture? Was this a handheld photo or was this photo taken on a tripod or some other type of support?

Best Regards,

Michael
