lakatua Posted 17 hours ago Share #94343 Posted 17 hours ago Leica MP | Leica Summicron 50mm f/2 v3 | Rollei Retro 400S | Xtol 1:1 Experimenting with this film - it's rated at 400 iso but I wonder if it is better suited at 200 iso. I really exposed for the shadows with this roll and on much of this roll the negatives appear fairly underexposed. On the other hand, I like this film. It's sharp and the halation is quite pleasing. Guess you are right. This film is the Agfa-Gevaert Aviphot Pan 200 made aerial pictures due to the Fotoimpex homepage. Therefore it has a high contrast at the 200 ASA rating. To use it for pictorial work you have to overexpose it and shorten the development time. In the past it was sold as Rollei Superpan 200 with a 200 ASA rating. I used it with 100 ASA for taking pictures and even than it was a bit hard with dark shadows. I'm quite a bit shocked, that they now rated it as 400. Maybe it is a mistake on the webside and it is a 400 ASA Aviphot. But even than it should be better overexposed at least 1 f-stop. Here a example from from the Superpan 200 at 100 ASA. This car took me to so many festivals and concerts when I started making a living with rock photography. I slept in this car countless times. Money was tight, but time was great. Mine was a golden one with a brown vinyl top. I never forgo this car, so many storys. Edited 12 hours ago by DreiPunkte

You could be right, but this photo can hardly be seen as an example of the idea that this film can better be exposed at 200 iso. The backlight and the flare-ish part of the ship at the left suggest rather overexposure; the blacks are more dark grey than black.
