Interesting divergence of lines, rather than convergence.  Or is that an optical illusion?

The brain expects a convergence of lines in perspective. When this convergence is missing, the 'correction program' in the brain still kicks in, resulting in overcorrection and creating the impression of divergence.

If the goal isn’t strict accuracy but rather the impression of geometric correctness, one would need to undercorrect by a few degrees. In any case, it’s an interesting observation and a point where we can see how our visual perception works. It constantly tricks us—or helps us in everyday life.

And yes, an optical illusion, if you want to call it that.
