It would seem the name enables them to charge (for new lenses) close to the price of second-hand Leitz. Hmm ... For shooting on an M I am tempted to put my Nikkkor 24 onto the NikonF/Leica adapter and use scale focusing. On the R I can set the 21-25 ASPH at the 24 position but the size and weight of the lens does not add up to a lightweight/portable setup (one of the charms of the M or the Olympus OM for that matter). It seems like a good option if you can make the Nikon lens work on your M. Wrt the Zeiss: according to many reviews it is said to be on par with the Elmarit concerning image quality (Erwin Puts website seems to be gone now, but here on the forum I found this: ). Thus, the price seems fair.

Thus, the price seems fair. I have the Zeiss 25 in Nikon mount. I've been too lazy so far, but I'm selling it. I love the focal length but found it a little soft and just never bonded with it (apparently I'm not the only one). I think 28 is a boring focal length, kind of a tweener, but I bought the Zeiss 28mm after Ming Thein raved about it, and I find it mercurial, but when it hits.... The 21 is legendary but very large. I still have my sights on that, as well as the 135, which is equally brilliant but monstrously large. The 100 is a tremendous macro and I love it. I don't have but hear that both 35mm are outstanding. The 50s are interesting: the f/2 macro is everyone's fav. I went cheap and bought the f/1.4, which wide open is virtually unusable, but otherwise is fantastic. The 15 is supposedly fantastic, though not small. The Zeiss line is actually bigger and sturdier than the comparable Leica M line. It can weigh a lot more, if that's a factor. Generally about 1/3 the price with a different draw. Thank Aryel, I think part of the magic is due to 'old fashioned' principles and ideas. Most of this stuff is done wit a 70+ year old camera and real film. erl Posted January 14, 2024 Share #89074 Posted January 14, 2024 Gallery wedding Couldn't resist this pic that I stumbled across. I had to include the pole dancer in my take of the situation. I don't think the official photographer noticed it. In fact he didn't even notice that the grooms jacket is too small and that it is not buttoned up. Not really good enough for 'official' [pics, IMO. Also, it is built very well.

DreiPunkte Posted January 14, 2024 Share #89080 Posted January 14, 2024 I use the Snap-Shot Skopar 25mm as my always-on-lens with the viewfinder on the MD-2. The distance klick-stops makes the world easy especially in the dark. For me the IQ is right for 135 film. Thumb up for this little lens. 3
