Beautiful color palette, Rog. A pleasure to look at and enough "enigma"  left about what  we are actually seeing--but in the end, that doesn't really matter, we are not in a documentary class...

btw, I had to look up Sueoka. I hope you and Sueoka were not affected by the terrible fires...  ?

Very elegant, Christoph ! Flowers in B/W are not easy, but , as you show, have a special quality... Thanks for the reminder.. btw: did you know that Hemerocallis is a nice addition to any salad ? Just pluck off a bud and  try....

Wonderful, Phil. Is the blue of the river due to  the reciprocity effect of the Velvia ?

And do I have to worry:  last roll as in  final roll ? Hopefully not !

Sueoka is a grocery store in Koloa, Kauai, which I have prospected for its walls and textures over the years. My wife and I were on Kauai when the hurricane hit--just big surf and gusty winds, with no damage, unlike the tragedy that struck Maui. We made a connecting flight from Kauai to Maui, then to Long Beach on the 11th, and Kahului was understandably very busy, but it was all on-time and on-purpose.

Thank you so much, Klaus. I did try to expose with reciprocity in mind. As I didn’t have phone reception where I was, I guessed. Looking at it, though, I maybe could have toned down that blue a little in photoshop.

Yes, sadly, the 6008i kit has now gone to a new home. Without doubt the finest medium format kit I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing, but just too heavy, especially as I always felt I needed to carry extra lenses, backs and so on. I have an older 2.8f TLR Rolleiflex to satisfy the medium format urges now but realise more and more that 35mm is my photographic happy place.

I know the pain and the agonizing over what to take.. I´m just back from my summer holidays and was very proud to decide for just one MF--the TLR Rolleiflex. Very liberating. No extra lenses, no extra backs. That's what I decided, but then, on arriving I found that  the SWC  had somehow sneaked into the bag....

About your 6008 kit-undoubtedly among the best you could possibly buy. I was circling around that  system for quite a while but in the end decided against it for the same reasons you quote. Embarking on that journey you'll need a sherpa at some point.

But in the Leica-M world similar dangers lurk. I´m just pondering about my scudera: wouldn't a  set of 35, 50 and perhaps 90mm be just enough.... ?  Imagine the Zen-like simplicity in your drawer..... but then... a 28 or 24 or 21 is  needed sometimes, isn't it ?

And what about 75 and 135? 🫤

And then for each focal length there may be a choice of different versions, the 2/50 as allrounder, the 2,8/50 for its simplicity, but late at night perhaps the 1,4/50 is needed (or the noctilux). 🤔
Then, just looking at the 2/50 for example, different versions may be interesting, the version ii for it’s classic rendering, or version v with a more modern balance, or anything in-between for (insert your reason of choice) or the apo because it is the best?🧐

Oh, and did I forget to mention lenses from other manufacturers… ?🫣

Don´t get me started, Christoph. All these thoughts are painfully familiar to me. What you forgot are the "Re-buys"--because one forgets ( I´m looking in the mirror ) why a certain lens had to go, then after a year or maybe sooner, you rebuy it...and remember why it just wasn't you.   I´m looking at you, Summaron 5,6 / 28 ...and you 75mm in your Cron and Summarit incarnartions.

Did I tell you I never owned  a 35  or 50 mm Cron ? 🤔
