Meandering. Took a couple days off from the garden, only to discover that my indolence had the price of losing some delicious asparagus due to bolting. Made me think of our old friend, who has not contributed for some time, riding his bicycle across Germany, and occasionally providing a great photo of asparagus being grown in long, beautiful rows. Good asparagus is bad thing to waste.

So, in honor of that old friend:..."What the lazy gardener saw."

This picture reminds me of my endless musings about trying out one of the Fuji GA 645 cameras. Fortunately my GAS is tamed at the moment :)

Well, if your GAS returns I'd avoid the GA645Zi.

Although a great camera which produces wonderful images, I've had two now and both have failed with the infamous, rear door connector strip problem.  Usually starts with segments failing on the door LCD and ultimatly means the film door sensor fails and the camera will not trip the shutter.

Nice paper weight though.

Thank you for this good advice! I never read about these problems before and might have run into an expansive experience. So maybe I should stay with my old folders. I got some nice exposures from my medium format folding cameras, but they all have their quirks. The lenses aren’t that good on the cameras I own. Some have very restricted exposure times, and some need re-spooling from 120 to 620 film rolls. If 620 film would be available, my Kodak Duo 620 would be my everyday choice, as it has very small dimensions and looks gorgeous. The lens is probably the best of all my folding cameras.

I may be mistaken but your description seems to fit Erwin.

I still have a GA645Zi that has 1 marking not showing on the LCD. Got it second hand about 9 years ago and it remained the same all those years. I never leave the batteries in the camera when not in use for a longer time. The other one I own does not have the issue, but also no batteries in the camera when not in use. I found some time ago a (long) video with address of a person in the description who can repair these; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn79AYlDR_4

Edit: Both were intended for a project but due to lack of time my project did not start up to now. Film still in the freezer. I checked both cameras early this year, condition remained as before.

Best
