Leica M2, Summicron (I) f=5cm 1:2, Agfacolor 200 (sadly discontinued as it has an appealing grain structure), Nikon CS5000ED, cropped and adjusted in Capture One.

More from the old Agfacolor negatives:  a moment of tranquility in West London, mid-2000s.

Still looking through the old Agfacolor negatives:  West London, mid-2000s, almost rural.

Nice. When I see one like this I always thing/hope:....."Surely, Agfa will at some point get back into the color film business."

Best,

I agree completely. I'd long lusted for a Mamiya 7 and, as a post-presidential election present to myself (I had been giving all my discretionary funds to the campaign), I bought one. I was well aware of the superiority of MF over FF, owning two others, What surprised me is that, now that I use the Mamiya constantly, I also use my FF (M4-P) more as well. I now take my Leica everywhere, even when I leave the Mamiya at home. The Mamiya taught me how much and why I love my Leica. And then there is your point about a certain kind of spontaneity and sometimes an unpredictable quality (dare I use the term "lomography" when discussing a Leica?).

I had the same "problem". After buying a Plaubel Makina 67 I used the M4 much more as before. Both camera were my travel companions, but after a winter tour in the north of Sweden, my Plaubel showed some severe light leaks whereas the M4 photos were perfect. As a result I just had a very short relationship with the Plaubel.

Another from the dusty old negs archive. Maria, my wife, taken 1980. M4, Tri-X.

What an amazing natural portrait!
