It is good to see I am in good company with my personal feelings for the 28 Hektor. Obviously, the person who would call the lens a "dog" , in reference to the fact the creator of the formulation named it after his dog,  is not a "dog person:" who would name a failure after their best friend?

Two of my best friends

Leica Ic, 28/6.3 Hektor, Fuji 800 Superia

very nice, great perspective. Zoe is probably looking at the beer and assessing if friend #2 didn't have too much of it before climbing up the ladder... 😄

about the "dogs": I assumed it was used here in the meaning of "underdogs".... anyway,  it is interesting how different the connotation of " Dog" in different cultures is. Perhaps  @benqui,   living in Bavaria as I understand, can explain the common expression of : Hund´samma.... 😁( aren´t we dogs )

Brilliant evaluation. Zoe, knowing that frequent treats come from friend #2, is always concerned for his well being. :)

Best,

Wayne

Beautiful, Philip. The congruence of  the blue hills and the dark foreground make the picture-and the minaret giving  an interruption that makes the picture even more interesting.

Mapping. I started with some cement wall abstracts, and one in particular with this black smudge seemed a likely candidate, whispering, "Take my picture, mister." But why the smudge? Everything today and every day is suspect. I knew I wanted to do something with a restrained palette, something with yellow and black. Simple. Yellow is uplifting, but with black, it is CAUTION, perhaps even crime scene material. So many crimes in broad daylight. What was the smudge hiding? Why are we not entitled to what is beneath the smudge? Redacted, redacted. I remember reading some pages of a WWII military record group I was permitted to research thirty-five years ago in the National Archives. Marked in red at the top of the page was TOP SECRET.  Eighty percent of the page was blacked out, and rubber stamped on the page was the notice that the material had been redacted in the interest of national security. Forty-five years after the end of WWII. So much for the map of my Bauhaus assemblage.

ha ha Klaus, I am happy to help: "Hund samma" means in Bavaria "we are so cool, clever and smart"😉

Fascinating and unsettling. Having looked at it several times now I am still not sure if it's a real person.

Clouds#3

I enjoy hiking in the mountains, as most people probably do, for the view at the end of the trip or on  the way. But walking on a day with rain and clouds so low that you are actually walking not on but in clouds  has a very special quality too... as long as my feet are dry...

Fascinating to read your thought process Rog. It is a very effective collage.
