a gorgeous unmistakably film rendition with lovely complimentary colors!

Thanks so much Adam! I'm loving your reportage on the Williamsburg happenings - these guys with their magnifying glass and so forth really take it seriously!

Thanks so much David, I really appreciate that. It's a long dirt road and then 333 steep steps (which of course are still there and even steeper when you have to go back up) plus a kilometer along the beach (or three, if you first happen to turn the wrong way at the bottom of the steps 😫) so, as a park ranger in the USA once said to me, you tend not to get the bottom feeders going there. All the best to you as well.

Amazing Dirk.  What lens was that?  24mm?  It almost feels like a little wider would have been ideal.  But 24mm is pretty damn wide, which makes me think it was a longer lens

It was the 35mm Summilux. It is really hard to choose the right lens for a helicopter flight.

Here is one from a bit more far away:

Excellent results for an expired film. Is it Extra Film or Extrafilm? If the latter, then it may be the one that was given gratis when used Extrafilms's mail-in development service. I realise chances are slim but thought I'd mention it.

Very good Adam. I agree, the format is perfect.

Here is the next photo in the evolution of the dawn/sunrise.  For me, it was the sweet spot in terms of light and color 😍

And I think the panorama format is a perfect match 😍

Really nice Phil, and the fact that the pier is so well defined against such an extreme highlight is a testament to the fidelity of film. Digital would just have died right there.

For three nights last week I took the bike and headed down the west coast of our state along what is known as the Great Ocean Road. Celebrating its 100th birthday this year, the road was largely carved from sheer rock cliffs by servicemen recently returned from World War 1. It is the most wonderful road to ride if you are lucky enough to have light traffic and clear weather. I was half lucky - the weather was changeable, with quite a few patches of drizzle but, perhaps because of this, traffic was unusually light and I was able to enjoy many stretches of no other traffic at all, especially on the many lovely curving sweeps of road between the towns of Airey's Inlet and Apollo Bay. I'm just scanning some of my pictures from the trip - I loaded my trusty M6TTL along with 50mm, 28mm and 135mm lenses, plus a couple of rolls each of Velvia 50 and Ektachrome 100. I also took along my newest purchase, a Nikonos V with a 35mm lens, but unfortunately that was malfunctioning so it got sent back to Japan today. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the occasional photo I'll post from the odyssey:

Very nice Dirk. I like this muted palette too (though I'm pretty sure there is a lot of colour information left to be explored in that scan, should you wish to do that).

Wow what a view! The muted palette gives a very cool vintage feel to the photo.

First roll of Kodak 2238. Nice film, very contrasty. Not easy to use for me, but for sure I'll try again (also because I have 4 more rolls)

Canon A-1, 28/2.8 FD, Kodak 2238 @ iso 12

More from the Don Valley... Looking at these images, it's hard to believe that they were taken just a short stroll from the birthplace of steel and are surrounded by industrial buildings...

All taken with Hasselblad 503cx, Zeiss Distagon 50mm f/4 on Kodak Ektar 100

very nice, Phil.  To be honest, the color palette seems to resemble the new Ektachrome more so than velvia 50.  Both are great.
