Fog is very well reproduced by film.

You know why ?

Fog is microdroplets of water and grains of film reproduce well this aspect

not the case of digital by smoothing square pixels and "smoothing" aspect

make a comparison and you'll see . I already do it !

Anyone use the Ferrania P30 B&W film?  I just rec'd 3 rolls, which I forgot I even ordered it was so long ago.

Any thoughts or insights would be of interest.

Thanks

Adam,

Great film, especially for "dark" moods. IMHO it reacts quite differently to most other films in it's response to light.

I showed some examples I took with this film a while back (here) - you even commented on that ...

My recommendation would be to shoot one of your rolls under differing lighting conditions, have it developed, evaluate the results and use the remaining films accordingly (ok, stating the obvious).

Best regards

Christoph

aha, yes, thanks for reminding me.  Your samples were a great insight indeed.

I think I will use the film for some street portraits with my 75mm summilux.  Nothing too edgy and let's see how the film renders some bokeh porn :) :)
