Dan Ryan Posted August 13, 2017 Share #38225  Posted August 13, 2017 and in color we have this picture   Leica M7-Kodak Portra 160-Summilux 35 Asph Portra dev myself  which you prefer ? color for me    Image13serrurrivhakp16fecctlfht+++bis1000.jpg   A "purist" in film , no conversion color > b&w dont need another digital step to convert by photo software  Best Henry It's the b&w for me Henry - I think it has to do with the composition; not so complicated as the colour shot - in the b&w we have the top, the left, the right, and then the group at the bottom - none of them overpowering, just nicely balanced. Dan Ryan Posted August 13, 2017 Share #38228  Posted August 13, 2017 (edited) This is certainly a spectacular photograph. I don't think the exposure could be any better. If it didn't really look that way, it should have.  That bit of lightning, lower left, on the floor really is spectacular.  Best,  Wayne Wayne - thanks so much for those kind comments.  And I am so pleased that you like that bit on the lower left - it's one of the parts of the pic that, for some reason, holds my attention also. At the time I took the shot I used the Voigtlander II meter on the M4.  I took readings (if you could call it that  it wasn't as if I had a Pentax Spotmeter in my pocket! ) from the stained glass window, the wood on the staircase bannister, and then the chequerboard floor where the light fell - then i 'averaged' them out.  What that means is that I took a guess and prayed like hell ... Edited August 13, 2017 by Dan Ryan

Finally I am right to have 2 cameras one for color and one for b&w  Thanks for your comment Dan ...do you like now black version or both ? Best Henry Edited August 13, 2017 by Doc Henry
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!   I post again for Dan the color version  Leica M7-Kodak Portra 160-35 Summilux Asph    Just to compare when converting color > b&w , you lose or not details specially in the shadows ... and in addition , when you convert you need another step of one digitalization (LR or SE) ....
