philipus Posted June 23, 2017 Share #35041 Posted June 23, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Excellent shot, I think. The Summitar is such a nice lens, and works well with Vista 200 here. Golden Hour. M3 with Summitar 50mm and AgfaVista 200. From my Wild Light Workshop in the Faroe Islands in May. Fuji GSW690iii Kodak Ektar 100 I like this one a lot. ...some steps away from the 'tourist-mainstream'... M4_32 (2 von 4).jpg M4 - CBiogon - CHM100 - D76 Welcome back Keith. Both photos are very nice, in particular imho this one. Have been out of the country since Easter, unfortunately with very little photography activity during that time. Did manage one roll of Tri-X in my Rolleicord Vb (shame on me!) 'Squares'. I think you've elevated the series Adam. My favourites are 1 and 4 but I agree with Steve that no. 5 has a very nice balance between the natural light and the artificial light. #5

A miller Posted June 23, 2017 Share #35043 Posted June 23, 2017 Thanks, Philip. And thanks again for the valuable feedback. I will likely be continue to toil with some of these for a while and fresh eyes and perspectives are valuable for that! I think you've elevated the series Adam. Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted June 23, 2017 Share #35048 Posted June 23, 2017 Neil, not better with other paper support than silver paper (printing grains of silver, is done in depth in the thickness of the paper) and especially not inkjet printer (deposit of ink on paper), what horror ! ... and I'm not talking about the ink nozzles that clog constantly Nice work Neil. Tries the beige frame, it's pretty too Henry Henry Lets meet up, I will bring the 8x10 neg and you can teach me how to print it (16x20 on your enlarger) on that lovely silver paper....we can have a few beers while comparing prints :) Neil
Michael Hiles Posted June 23, 2017 Share #35049 Posted June 23, 2017 The finished product [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Excellent. A fine print should be mounted, matted and framed. That's the whole point.

blackandwhite Posted June 23, 2017 Share #35052 Posted June 23, 2017 @ Henry: the same photo actually. But as I have to send it to the Forum thread via Computer, after scanning somehow reluctant baryte paper ( ;.) ) it possibly looses the quality it has when I look at it here on my wall. @ Henry, Neil Ramesh, Brendan, Steve and all: You guys shoot such great pics. In the evening when I get through the thread pages I actually want to say my admiration to all of You, distinctevely. But You're so fast :-) !!!! This morning, I develloped a film I shot with an Agfa Box from the beginning of the 1930. I'll come back to that in a couple of days. For the week-end, I grabbed out this photo that I took a long time ago - 1994 - I don't remember the film, scanned the photo but the camera most certainly was my wife's Konica Hexar. And the film develloper was - back then - Agfa Rodinal. Those were the decades of heavy motorcycling from on 1973 to 2010 - my kids on the side-car and my wife following on her solo machine, making the tour de France with humble MZ Sidecar and Suzuki GN 250. IMHO you make excellent use of the Ilford films and the inherent qualities of the Zeiss lens. Rgds C.
Doc Henry Posted June 24, 2017 Author Share #35056 Posted June 24, 2017 (edited) I just purchase second hand in our french forum , this new , never used , lightmeter timer at the price of 30 Euros. He also gives the paper grade , according to your negatives. Some exciting summer nights at home photo lab ... and happy moment with no computer, no scanner, only the enlarger and me L1017400-2philiplighmterm8cron28lf++++1000.jpg M8-Summicron 28 Asph Henry I must explain you about this lighmeter . Before when I print , I must make tests with many small pieces of paper. Now with this lighmeter timer , I have directly the exposure time and also the grade of paper . Very practical ! With the round cell meter under the light of the enlarger , I choose the right place of the negative ie I put it under one clear * part of the negative (with much details),and after under the black * part (with much details) of the negative. The lighmeter gives me the mean good exposure time for the enlarger , finally it's like the lighmeter of the camera. That's my second lighmeter I bought , this one for back up Henry * "clear and black" in the negative mean "black and white" in the print Edited June 24, 2017 by Doc Henry
