I'm looking at a couple of EOS-1V HS bodies, both of which are fairly low roll-counts (211 and 245). I have some nice EF-mount lenses which, for some strange reason, I'd never thought of for using on film. Yes that is interesting, thank you. I have not seen that scanning 120 flat on the bed of the V850 with no mask at all just museum glass over. I'm planning on picking one up this weekend to use with the EF lenses I have sitting quietly in the corner. This was my first EOS camera which I picked up by chance one day as I walked past a camera shop and thought it looked good. Mine has the optional grip which helps when holding it in portrait view. I now have 5 including a 5D and a 1n. My EOS 650 is 30 years old and still works perfectly, this year is the 30th anniversary of the EOS system being introduced. As mentioned by gsgray they did have an issue with the mode dial breaking but so far mine has been ok. I love my Leica cameras but as my eyes get older I find the EOS film cameras very easy to use and would recommend them. They are still cheap and produce great results. I've been reading up on the problem I've never used tmax400 but have read that you have to be agitate tri x harder than usual, it looks like bromide drag so you may have to agitate a bit harder, I had some a bit like this and left some negatives in fix for 1 hour and it made them a bit better Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk 2 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I returned to Canon (from F1 New days) with a 5D when they first came out, and now use a 1DX. For some reason I'd never thought of using the 6 EF-mount lenses I have sitting close at hand on a film camera, and only made that neuron connection a few weeks ago (it may have been one of your photo's that joined the dots). The two 1V's I'm looking at are down in Singapore, so I'm planning on heading down there this weekend to see what I can land. They are both HS models, so come with the PB-E2 power pack, which takes AA batteries (or can take a converted NP-E3 battery). Mine gets a lot of use from f/2.8 - f/5.6, with wide open being necessary for indoor velodromes. Carrying it with a 1DX hanging off it all day for a week of racing is an athletic feat in itself. The thread moves so fast, 2 days and many great shots in between (most of all those fantastic 80s London shots, to think that our city/people shots we take now will give us these feelings in 30+ years is always strange.) Another from the same roll of Portra 160, R6, 90 Summicron-R - Cape Banks, complete with an adventurous cyclist for Henry. And another long exposure on beautiful Pacific sandstone shores of NSW, 28 Elmarit-R II With your negative problems jonnyboy - maybe try to simplify what is happening before you lose more shots, to clarify if it is camera and/or development? Those negs look pretty horrific! Swish swish, pat, pat x 4 a minute. There doesn't seem so much scope for agitation to go so wrong? Ilfosol 3 has always given me superb results. Could you expose a roll with the lens cap on the camera? It might help confirm where the problem lies.
