Bateleur Posted April 11, 2017 Share #30483 Posted April 11, 2017 Yes more please Charles. Really nice ones. Btw how does one shoot half-frame panoramas? (And I know the answer is "One just shoots half-frame panoramas"). Charles - these are really striking! What an excellent idea, beautifully executed. I imagine these would look fabulous framed together on the wall - have you done something like this with them? Are they from a half-frame camera? Excellent, Charles. Very special! Thank you all (And Doc too). Since you asked, it's quite simple really - In my case I use the Olympus Pen F (half frame SLR) mounted on a tripod. What one should attempt is to have the camera mounted centrally on the tripod and have the setup level. Unfortunately the viewfinder covers part of the image so unless one surveys the scene and makes appropriate markers to ensure a seamless transition between frames there is an overlap. Being lazy I accepted the inevitable overlap. For the photo's shared I attempted to have each frame having its own intrinsic interest as well as contributing to the whole, also I photographed on a hazy day giving even lighting in the forest. I can mount the three companion negatives in an enlarger and print the result you see. Being an old camera the spacing between negatives is not consistent, also I want to try a mask and have divisions white instead of black. Regards Charles

philipus Posted April 11, 2017 Share #30490 Posted April 11, 2017 Very nice shot Charles. It's precisely the thing one wants to see happen when one's in front of a cathedral with a camera in the hand. Just great. br Philip For Doc Henry, when he gets back. Thank you, Philip (I've run out of 'Thanks' quota again on LUF). In my case the scans were by the shop that did the developing, so I'll rescan myself when I get the negatives back.
