Here is another MF picture, this time on another camera which, despite its wonderful qualities, I just could never seem to bond with. Perhaps I should just stick with 35mm, where I feel more comfortable, but again I get seduced by the incredible beauty of these large negatives:

Trentham Falls, Victoria, Australia 2012

Hasselblad 500C/M, Distagon 60mm, Ilford FP4+

A superb image!

I recently paired a Distagon 60mm CB with my 500C (my first ever Hasselblad, bought late last year) and I have to say I bonded very quickly.  MF-wise my Rolleicord Vb & Fuji GW690II are feeling very neglected!

Very nice, Phil.  Lovely contrast and love the light beam!

Charless - was that a Barnack walk?  I'm jealous!  Lovely photo! :)

Hi Adam, Yes though did not produce the entry for the challenge :( oh and no need, you'll have to put up with me some time in NY for a street walk ;)

Adam,

It was indeed a Barnack walk, and a very pleasant one - due no doubt to the company.

It was cold and ugly outside, and although the church is a gem of medieval architecture,

it was even colder inside ...  :( Luckily there are some very nice cafe's close by to warm

up  :) . Den Bosch is also the place where the painter Hieronymus Bosch lived and

worked, and effigies depicting the fantastic inhabitants of his paintings are strewn all over.

I must admit to finding the Mamiya 7 a bit "difficult" - not in use, it is brilliant - but in the sense that I have not yet managed to get a very good "strike rate" of decent pictures from it.

Trentham Falls, Victoria, Australia 2012

Phil, don't worry ... I have always the same problem to get a very good "strike rate" ... with all my MF-Cams ... and with my Leica  . Don't worry, from my point of view ... you make a great job!

Henry, well in the 70' I didn't any photos ;) but in my second home-base the situation has changed in the same way ... more or less. ... It's bad, from my (romantic) point of view.

Gorgeous photograph Phil, well composed and the tones are simply wonderful!

Regards

Charles

Thank you Charles. I've got to say, too, that your Cathedral/church picture also exhibits the most wonderful tonality and composition. Superbe!

Phil black is real black, grey is grey and white is real white

Wonderful tone

Again, thank you Doc. FP4+ is such a wonderful film - I should use it more. This roll I overexposed by a stop and slightly underdeveloped to try to get into those deep shadows a little more.

Very nice, Phil.  Lovely contrast and love the light beam!

Charless - was that a Barnack walk?  I'm jealous!  Lovely photo! :)

Thank you again, Adam. Not exactly a light beam, but the light fall of water - this was taken in Autumn when there was not much flowing into the lake at the bottom. And I want to say that your blizzards series is just going from strength to strength - absolutely superb, original and beautifully crafted colour work. And here I'll fully agree with Henry that it is only with a film like Portra 400 that you'd be able to get the particular look from these pictures that make it so invigorating to view the series.

Also, fully agreed on Charles' superb photo.

Phil, Charles, these are two very nice black and white photographs. Just lucious tonality all around and great framing. Well done.

Thank you sincerely, Philip. I'd like to consistently get tonality like that in Charles' picture from 35mm! BTW your colour work is always such a pleasure to see - I love the way you constantly find such interesting details, as well as your lovely Scandinavian landscapes.

Thanks so much again Gregor. I will never be tempted to show the hundreds of thousands of pictures I've taken, MF or 35mm, that didn't work! I look forward to seeing more of your well seen pictures - like "Raining Men" -  soon.

Also, fully agreed on Henry's wonderfully atmospheric pictures of Paris from years ago (especially contrasted with the more modern views) and on Keith's superb black and white work. There is such a lot of great photography (and photographers!) in this thread alone!

Love this one, Philip.  Very clever as initially I am not sure if the lady is sitting comfortably in the comfort of one of the leather chairs or is sitting most uncomfortably homeless on the street corner.  One of my favs from you

Ha, ha, Christoph.  By the looks of this unbelievably good and scary photo, I don't think I'll be making any walks in that area any time soon... :)

Wow, VERY GOOD.  Love the scene within a scene, detail in the sky and clouds and overall tones.  If the piece of that car wasn't in the frame the photo could be from any decade in the last 100 years...

Coogee this is superb!

Thanks, I really appreciate the positive feedback.

There's every chance I may return to that spot and lurk in the bushes waiting for a badly dressed person to take that path. :)

Like Adam, I love your frame within a frame shot there.

I'm guessing you don't miss seeing the world in Orange through your R body, I know I've never used mine for B+W for that reason, preferring the luxury of the never changing Messsucher view.
