christoph_d Posted January 20, 2017 Share #26463 Posted January 20, 2017 I'm not really an out of focus fanatic but sometimes I do indulge. Here I tried to go for some form of graphic/painterly impression of the scooter and passing pedestrians. What do you think? br Philip Flickr (same as previous photo) Intriguing,. I think the colour scheme supports your aim. Rgds C.
christoph_d Posted January 20, 2017 Share #26464 Posted January 20, 2017 One from a British beach in summer - I don't think it could be anymore stereotypical; deck chairs, donkeys and people still fully clothed. philipus Posted January 20, 2017 Share #26465 Posted January 20, 2017 Thank you very much for your thoughts, I appreciate them a lot. Colour really is tricky, I find. The auto setting in ACR wanted a considerably warmer and yellow colour temperature which isn't at all what the shows; it's more 'cool burgundy' somehow. Here's another attempt, where I've warmed up the shadows with a hint of red-orange. Welcome, dear visitor! Philip I think it's nice for definition and color ! very subtle red of the rearview of the mirror Good result Thanks for sharing Rg Henry Interesting, Philip. I do like the first on much better for the simple reason that there is more going on in the frame in the OOF area, with the mirror carefully placed compositionally and not blocking the couple. This one has all the lovely attributes of film and the red seat gives it appeal for me. You might consider warming up the shadows a bit. Might be just me but the areas to the below right of the seat looks to have a blue cast and I might try to at a minimum desaturate this out. Keep thinking outside of the box! Thanks a lot, Suede. The red may the real exact color of the seat when Philip saw it. But I would doubt that the areas under the seat were blue but rather probably were of a gray scale... Intriguing,. I think the colour scheme supports your aim.RgdsC.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! This is the reason why the sensors fail to give a good rendering I read that the M240 can always give the skin with magenta ... Not tomorrow , we'll have something clean ! The auto setting in ACR wanted a considerably warmer and yellow colour temperature which isn't at all what the shows; it's more 'cool burgundy' somehow. Here's another attempt, where I've warmed up the shadows with a hint of red-orange. 2017-06(509)-9k-203-RXP400(800)_9_2s.jpg Hi Philip, I agree there was an improvement when you took out some blue. I hope this is OK and you don't mind, but I uploaded your picture and had a go at it with something like what I'd do if it were my picture (and I understand well that we all see things way differently, so again, forgive me and I reiterate that this is just a personal vision). This was just going into "Selective Color" in Photoshop and selecting "Neutral" then sliding the "Cyan" slider down to -12: To me, this gives a more "neutral" tone to the elements in the picture. I'd do a couple of other things, and in retrospect I'd slide out a touch more cyan. Anyway, I hope you see this as just a suggestion which in absolutely no way implies any criticism of your picture.
stray cat Posted January 20, 2017 Share #26474 Posted January 20, 2017 Another tightly-framed cityscape - this one from last Sunday at the "Top of the Rock" observatory in midtown Manhattan during sunset. To me, this scene exudes power... Hassy 503cw, 250mm Sonar Superachromat, Fuji Provia 100F ESB from the Top of the Rock-2.jpg Adam, I think I mentioned how well you use the SWC - add the Superachromat to that list. This is stunning.

Michael Hiles Posted January 21, 2017 Share #26476 Posted January 21, 2017 This is in the cafeteria of the Museé d'Orsay in Paris. This is an impressive building with a wonderful collection. If you look carefully you can see Sacre Coeur in the distance. Henry tempted me to do it. Welcome, dear visitor! finarphin Posted January 21, 2017 Share #26477 Posted January 21, 2017 This is with a Leica M3 and a Canon Serenar 28mm LTM lens. It was color film converted to black and white.
