Hopefully we may be able to get some snow shots this week or next

There was a bit of snow on the tops yesterday. Mam Tor was looking quite imposing from the land slip side above Castleton. Spent some time photographing up there and on Cubar/Frogatt Edges yesterday. Cant post images here because they are all Fuji digital and Henry would have apoplexy! :D

Hi Uwe, yes i'm also a fan of using the MD variant with wide angle zone focusing. Here's my

.. Thank you for your interest Mrs. Miller,a leica md is shortened, a leica m3 without a distance meter. It was probably needed earlier for special applications in order, for example, to catalog. There was the camera then synonymous in adapted formats.Http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/html/camera-11437-Leica_MD-Post.htmlI use the camera with wide angle lenses at an estimated distance. That feels very liberating! : )The negatives from this camera can be seen on the modified negative edge on the right.

Best regardsUweP.S. Please excuse my bad English

Supplement ..The Leica MD can be an affordable entry into photography with Leica cameras and should not be confused with the Leica M-D !! :)

cristals well separated  and compare with fresh snow you'll see  :)

This is taken, in a dark food court in the basement of a department store, with Portra 400 pushed two stops. I would also have liked to try Portra 800, on which a two-stop push would take me to ISO 3200, but that film is not available in Thailand. The Kodak film data sheets provide information on pushing Portra 800 one and two stops, but none on pushing Portra 400. Pushing Portra 400 increases contrast, which is this dark environment, I quite like. I wonder what others think?

Here's one I took with my first Leica camera back in 2009. I later sold the R-series gear I had in favour of more M-series gear - somewhat due to the weight, but in the end I decided I preferred the rangefinder experience:

This fantastic! Very nice tones.

A bit more from Arles. In a courtyard of one of the exhibition places (I cannot remember the name, but Van Gogh seemed to have painted there, and there's a nice small restaurant / cafe under the arcades at one side of the courtyard), a photographer was working, photographing anyone who cared to pay him with his self-made large format camera. He took pictures on photo paper, and developed using some sort of direct positive method, having a selection of dark boxes with chemical baths right next to his camera. His images had a certain style, so I posed for him. We had to wait for 3 hours before the picture was developed, watered and dried. Attached the result (mirror-reversed of course thanks to his process).

And here the photographer, Mehdi Nedellec, with his camera in that courtyard in Arles.

From last Sunday...  :D

Magic indeed, and I understand your preference of using the H over the L in these circumstances.

I imagine though that your M is lurking in the shadows to be used for any upcoming snowstorms?

Thanks.   Sadly, the snow blizzard occurred on all day on Saturday when I was a pumpkin :(    We were thought to possibly have a good dusting Friday morning and I was all packed and ready to go to Williamsburg.  But the weather fizzled out...
