Forestry I believe is Eoins specialist topic Henry.

But, my meagre knowledge recalls that the majority of NZ forestry is Pinus Radiata, and this runs on about a 25 to 30 year cycle.

And yes, it is replanted virtually as soon as it is felled, I fly over many plantations.

I like this one Frank, including the grain.

Incidentally, about the various topic-based photo fora, I just don't go there because of the virtual total absence of community feeling and constructive feedback that this thread offers.

I imagine all of us who post images in this thread as a massive world-wide posse (or whatever the collective noun would be, gaggle?) of film photographers on a continuous and constantly evolving photo walk.

Leica M6

I put this in the 'street photography' forum with little to no response.  I happen to have several rolls of delta 3200  It took several recipes to get satisfactory results.  This image was pulled to 1000 asa and developed in hc-110 b.  I can see using this combo for highly structured compositions and thought I would share the results with film shooters.

Frank

Sterling stuff Ramesh. I have always liked conversions of slide film. I also think you used the DOF effectively here, it really makes the eye hunt around for something to hold on to.

Machu Pichu - Peru.

Fujifilm Provia 100 - BW Conversion in PP

I like the feeling that this picture gives, Henry. Perfectly autumnal.

After what I said above , here an example (already posted)

Fog is microdroplets of water, you feel them on your face and film reproduced perfectly

this fog by silver grains.

You see and feel the fog when you watch this picture , as when you are in the nature :)

In digital it's smoothing (plasticized I said) and cannot reproduced grain of fog ! it's impossible

When you watch a beautiful picture, it has to remain in your memory,
You have emotion when you look, something that is different from usual ,
like when you listen to a piece of music on a vinyl disc and a tube amplifier :)

Best

Henry

Gary I want to use the same ASA as my color Elka 100 so that was the reason for the switch. B&H don't have any Kodak B&W 100 ASA in stock.

I find I mess up to many times when using 100 and 400 film speeds

For easy comparison , I post again the b&w version * in Kodak TX400 Leica MP and 50 Lux Asph :)

Which you prefer ?

Henry

* sorry , too big to send in a same post !

Black&white for me! I really like the difference between the strong lines of the bridge and the painterly reflections of the trees, which comes out in this version.

I like this shot, Frank. The BMX bike makes the composition, and the grain adds abstraction.
