Bateleur Posted September 1, 2016 Share #20505 Posted September 1, 2016 Yes I shoot colour too, in the good old bad old days on Kodachrome 64 (mostly). Once sent to the lab I would become insufferable until the postman broke the tension by bearing the treasured yellow envelope with rattling contents, as if that was not bad enough the house was immediately plunged in darkness ... Once sent to the lab I would become insufferable until the postman broke the tension by bearing the treasured yellow envelope with rattling contents, as if that was not bad enough the house was immediately plunged in darkness ... I remember those days all too well, the sending away, the wait, then the darkness (or lightness of the light-table). Ah, those days. Mostly K25 in my time. Now, we have instant gratification, you can chip, delete, and shoot again. Gary

Ah, those days. Mostly K25 in my time. Now, we have instant gratification, you can chip, delete, and shoot again. Gary As a slightly dissenting voice , I never had these memories as film was pretty much out as a consumer vehicle when I was young I have really discovered it in the last few years as a beautiful way to take pictures with a unique quality and mood: There is a time for instant gratification and there is also a time for thought, preparation and contemplation ... the visit to pick up the negatives and CD or waiting for the envelope is just as exciting ...

Trev Posted September 1, 2016 Share #20511 Posted September 1, 2016 Very funny Trevor, "any other nuisance" - a broad warning that is open to very flexible subjective interpretations Thanks Philip. My thoughts exactly. I've crossed this bridge thousands of times. Only took the time to look at it last Monday.

KevinL Posted September 1, 2016 Share #20517 Posted September 1, 2016 Good to see Henry checking in! Three garages. Leica M6 and something, trix400. Tony.Ogde400tx621718-26-02-768x1146.jpeg This is nicely seen and executed! To my eye, Baltz-esque with an oblique twist (he almost always shot straight on in the Neo-Topographics mode anyway).

A miller Posted September 1, 2016 Share #20520 Posted September 1, 2016 As a slightly dissenting voice , I never had these memories as film was pretty much out as a consumer vehicle when I was young I have really discovered it in the last few years as a beautiful way to take pictures with a unique quality and mood: There is a time for instant gratification and there is also a time for thought, preparation and contemplation ... the visit to pick up the negatives and CD or waiting for the envelope is just as exciting ... Well said, Harold. As simply as it may seem, the shape, size and color of that lady's hair in the middle of the frame brings the image together for me
