The definition or resolution is the best with the film . Nothing can compare with it Look at the definition of this crop at 100% : no "banding" or "inhomogeneity" in the black (I mean deep black) case in digital

Nice grey shade. No smoothing pixels please , more natural picture, not synthetic transformed by the camera software.

Very impressive quality of film  !

Henry.

While ordinarily I wouldn't mention it, your comparison to digital prompts me to point out an apparent lighter band running vertically slightly right of center.

Processing or my eyes?

I haven't used the Rollei Retro (although I believe I have a couple of 100' rolls of it languishing in the freezer!) but Pan F I develop with HC-110 1+47 for 5min 30secs just as the Massive Development chart suggests. It looks like this:

Gary you mean reflection  of the fuselage on the underside of the wing

or the shadow of the wing on the fuselage near the middle

This picture is taken against the light (contre-jour) :)

Thanks for your remark

Henry,

It runs vertically and yes includes the reflection on the underside of the wing. But even without that I can still see it above the wing, against the sky.

May be also a possible bad fixation during development of the film in the sky near the midlle  :)

Yeah, wondered if it was processing.

I don't get that with my digital though

Gary

Yes sometimes it can happen during dev. but I don't need photo software to correct with my analog picture :p

...and I am happy :)

Hello Henry,

Where in the North of France is that train station?

Nice photo, by the way.

Did you know that there is a Train Station sub-section in the German Language part of this Forum?

Best Regards,

Michael

Michael , it's "Lille Flandres" (National line)  near another station called "Lille Europe" (international line)

to go to Belgium and the North of Europe and also to Great Britain by the Channel Tunnel.

No I don't know this sub-section, I'll look for it.

Thanks Michael and glad you pass here :)

Best

Hello Henry,

I read this Thread all of the time. I just don't comment as often as I read.

In the German Language part of this form there are allerlei (all kinds of) sub-sections dealing with many different photographic categories. Separate sub-sections dealing with zum beispiel (for example): Railroads, railroad stations, airports, specific geographical areas, etc. You just have to go thru the various photographic categories.

Just as in this Thread: Anyone can Post there even if they don't read or/& write in German: Because everybody's pictures are always in the same language.

Best Regards,

Michael
