Henry, you know my preference is mono. But on certain occasions, colour works better.

The ticket thingies in France and Italy I always remember as being vividly yellow.

I also remember as I neglected (didn't know to be honest) to click my ticket, when we traveled Gare de Lyon to Venice, via Milan. The conductor between Milan and Venice growled at me/us, in Italian, which meant little to me.

Honest mistake, but I also understand a common one with foreign tourists (us).

Gary

Thanks Gary :)

I am glad you also like now color :D

You must compost  your ticket but not needed if your name is on it

Nice, except for the "drooping" horizon ...

Thanks, Christoph.  There are so many horizontal lines competing with each other and ultimately after toiling I preferred that the horizontal lines in the life guard post be level, as it is the main subject.

GNU nice b&w series

Have you tried with the software delivered with the scanner ?

Best

Henry

I'd like to, Henry, but the software is too old for my operating system.  I guess I could dedicate one of my internal drives as an older system boot drive. Actually, I'm about to inherit an older Mac if and when I can make the drive to pick it up. If that's the case I may dedicate that as my scan station.

I have Silverfast for my Epson scanner, as well as the Epson scan software, both of which seem to give me more consistent results, but for 35mm the scans are only just OK.  Silvefast for my Minolta is quite pricey compared to VueScan. I do like that you buy Vuescan once and it works with all scanners. Too bad Silverfast didn't use this idea.

I think you've done a great job with this film. Really wonderful photos.

I've understood Crossbird to be very grainy. Have you had to "tame" this during development or in post somehow?

The grain is definitely there at 100%, but I didn't try to smooth it out with noise reduction - I just decided to accept it as part of this film's characteristics. I'm coming to like this film, and the olive tint it gives to greens.
