Those three shots were taken in the streets just outside the Church of The Condemnation in Jerusalem.  The one with the lady is just in front of the entrance to her right.  The other two are just up the street.  I was walking from the Western Wall (just before the Dome of the Rock) on the way to the Church of The Condemnation.

Attached is another photo from the series.  Walk through the opening on the left, past the Dome of the Rock, and you are close to the church.

And another from just outside the walls of old Jerusalem.  This was a street vendor.

And one more from just outside the walls of Jerusalem.  I had to pay him to take his photo.  He wanted to give me a ride too, but I declined.

I love shots like this.  Yesterday I shot a roll of film on our local golf course with the sun coming up and shining through the trees.  I have yet to develop the film, but I do hope they come out nearly as nice as this.

Many years ago one of my (many) travel commissions was a trip to the Middle East, starting in Lebanon, then to Syria & ending in Jordan. These two are from Lebanon, a guide in Baalbek  and the ruins at Anjar. I took both 35mm and 6x6 cameras (Nikon & Hasselblad), and these are Hasselblad shots on Velvia, scanned on an Imacon. Wonderful trip which would take too long to cover in detail (and rather poignant in view of events in Syria).

Very nice series, Rob. Like Henry I especially like the fourth, which I find is shot from an appealing angle.

My 1N appears to be giving up the ghost so I'm on the hunt for a 1V now.

Henry really love the tones you're getting from that Portra!

Thanks Rira and Philip

Here another for you.

The contre-jour gives the color more brilliant

I like the portrait in particular, William. Very natural. It would be nice to see more from your travels.

Henry, Thank you for your kind comments. The Imacom scanner was a pleasure to use, but unfortunately it was only on loan at the time from a very helpful Hasselblad area representative. Consequently, I had to try to scan as much as possible in a very short time, so it was a steep learning curve! Looking back on them now, I can see ways they might be improved but at least I still have all the original transparencies and negatives from many years of professional work. I do look on eBay from time to time but they rarely appear for sale; the trouble is, once you have used one nothing else will do. I do (fortunately) have many scans still saved so I might post others from time to time. As well as missing the Imacon, I also miss all my Hasselblad equipment, especially the wonderful SWC.

Best wishes

I remember that walk up to the top of the hill very well Henry, plus when we were there the crowds were the same.

Mathias thanks for your reply.

You have many scanner brands like flatbed Epson V700 or 750 and also Plustek for 6x6

All these scan can be purchased now in second hand. One V700 is around 200-250 Euros mint

condition (in France).I don't know Canon but Wayne or Gary can help you here.

Thanks again for posting.

This last picture is also superb with these shadows and light

Regards

Henry
