All this fog (as I type it is a decent pea-soup day outside) and no sign of Ric.

Henry, send out the search party. If he's simply gone elsewhere, that's OK. I'd hate to think he wasn't well, and we "just forgot him".

One more, normal shot without extension tube.  Medium format, slight crop.  Tri-X developed in Rodianl 50:1.

Some of the first images from my "new" camera.

The Jewel Box, Forest Park, St. Louis.

Leica IIIa, Summar 5cm f2. Kodak BW400CN film, all photos 1/500 @ as close to f16 as the lens will get.

I'm not liking this film much, I don't think I'll buy any more of it, I have some Ilford FP4 to try next.

Makes me homesick.  Loved visiting Forest Park when we lived there.  The Jewel Box is a special place.

I like it, Mike. It has a relatively "plasticky" look, but can still work very well.

I am sure he is tending his mighty flock on flickr, which must be nearly a full time job for him :)

A bunch of foggy, snowy tree shots from last winter, all on Ilford Delta 400.

Also played with Delta 100 and HP5+, but Delta 400 seems to do a better out of camera contrast job with this sort of lighing to deal with.

Forward a few months to spring... and this place Rapperswil has a bunch of plane trees that are pruned back at the end of every autumn. The result is this tangle of thick branches that make for an interesting contrast against skies, lakes, whatever.

The only problem is how to get some form of isolation, but one day I'll get there.

All on Ilford HP5+, which is now my go to film for streets and general photography. Nice film, does exactly what it's told.

Oh, and these were amongst my last photos taken with the Rollei 35SE as the lack of an aperture lock on the front dial was driving me bananas. I picked up an earlier Rollei 35S which has that guard, and it makes all the difference.

Rollei users will know what I mean, so sorry if the rest of you are a bit baffled. It's all to do with small cameras, fat fingers, and aperture settings not staying where they're told to stay.

Ric,

Very nice!

I love photos of trees in snow and trees that have been pollarded for winter.

We don't get snow, or much of a cold winter for that matter, in Sydney. 10°C is a cold winter day for us.

Very nice Ric. 1,3,4 and the last are my faves.
