farnz Posted June 28, 2016 Share #17682 Posted June 28, 2016 It's come a long way from a Huhu grub... True but those Huhu's sure wake you up when they thud into the windows in the evening. Giant Weta's are surprisingly gentle and docile; an acquaintance kept them as 'pets' around his house and they never bothered me when I was there although they took a little getting used to at first. Guest JMF Posted June 28, 2016 Share #17684 Posted June 28, 2016 Gary, I've only recently entered the "SWC world", Adam will tell you more ! There are some discussions on the web about various finders such as http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133718 Have only used the original one and it suits me ! I have just ordered a 35mm Voigtlander Low Angle Finder with the 15, 21 and 25 mm lens attachments to use with my M bodies and will think of a cache to fit the SWC 6x6 square frame ! gbealnz Posted June 28, 2016 Share #17689 Posted June 28, 2016 Really wonderful blues, Gary. Yes, where's Ric? The original slide looked great, this scan not so, I can't seem to get the colours right, and not even sure how to "set a white point/balance" if that was the correct way of changing them. To me B&W is "simpler". Yes, not sure, I loved his foggy shots, and the snow scenes. Hopefully he is OK, just taking time out. Gary

Wayne Posted June 29, 2016 Share #17692 Posted June 29, 2016 I posted this over on Nature and Wildlife, Photo Forum. I like it....even though it represents a degree of failure, mine and the camera's: on top of everything else, focus was not that easy in dim morning light. Leica II, Hektor 50mm 2.5, Tri-X Ducks waddling along in a row is one thing that, when I see it, always makes me stop whatever I am doing and chuckle. In my view it is one of natures true treats. The problems is that, in past, I seem never to have a camera handy. In this case I was visiting my daughter with a new/used Leica II and Hektor lens that I had just picked up at the post office before I left for her apartment. I had loaded the first roll of Tri-X and had no idea as to the reliability of camera or lens. It was early morning and about the only thing that went right was the fact that I had the cap off of the lens, and the troubled shutter mechanism worked well enough to expose part of the scene correctly. But, as sometimes happens with these old Leicas, when they fail to operate perfectly, they give you a memory more vivid than if everything had gone as intended. Welcome, dear visitor! gbealnz Posted June 29, 2016 Share #17693 Posted June 29, 2016 Old saying, "If you can't hide it, advertise it". Here you can't hide the "fault", enjoy it. If anything it gives an olde worlde look. Love it. Gary
