I used to have the CV 21mm Color Skopar. Very easy to focus (it had a convenient lever screwed into the lens body), very small and very light. When I search on my Flickr I find two photos, but both are taken with the M8 (I bought the lens for use on my first M7, and then Leica came along with the M8). If interested, they are here:

and

I am pretty sure I have some film examples but since they don't show on a Flickr search, I didn't think them worthy of sharing. The lens was really nice to use, but it went for some reason related to a Leica body upgrade that I can't actually remember anymore. Life is simpler with one film body and the Holy Trinity of lenses!

I use a VC 1:4/21 on my M6 (and M 240 when I had it), and never found it a real problem not using an external finder.  Nice and small, focuses close (0.5m), only real problem is the hood as supplied is really small so you have to be careful of flare, although you can get a larger square version.

Don't have the Voigtlander 21mm, but the 25mm; the old style one, not rangefinder coupled but sweet and small

and with screw mount. Distances have to be estimated, though with the depth of field of an f4/25 that is not a

problem. On the M you could use the Rangefinder window, instead of an external finder; it covers the entire area

plus an extra bit, but not an unmanageable extra bit...

Henry. I have 28 & 35. My thinking was because I take a lot of motorbike shots. Sometimes they are parked close together and something wider would be useful.

its not killing me to mostly use 28mm

i'm not going to use an external finder...

Trev, I use much now 28 and 35

Both are on my M7 and MP

We must find a compromise. I think I will buy the 28 Summilux

rather than the 21 , I'm using it less often
