This is great, Steve. What an amazing view. I've shot quite a bit of (fresh) C200 and like it a lot. Good quality for the money.

Speaking of expired film, I just took delivery of 30,5m of Ektachrome slide duplication film (5071) which expired in 1987. Should be interesting to see what comes out of that...

I found several rolls of Fujicolor C200 on a shelf in the office, all well over three years out of date. They were freebies that Jessop's used to give away when you collected your processed films from their minilabs and which I never bothered to use. I have recently acquired a 28mm f2 summicron asph, so I decided to try the C200 film with it yesterday. Film processed today by a local Boots 1hr process only service at £5.99, including all their usual scratches, dust and drying marks. Some things never change!

Nice temperature inversion at Curbar in the Peak District yesterday morning:

Anyone of a certain age who remembers Roger Dean's record sleeve artworks in the early 70's, especially those used on various albums by Yes, would have been humming 'Close To The Edge' on Curbar Edge yesterday. Well I was, anyway!

When I was about 14 I bought a book of Roger Dean's LP covers and, at the time, thought they were great. Couldn't make the leap into the music though.

Here is another perspective (although the first I posted seems to hold together better...)

A way long exposure with the 6 stop ND filter, with Tri-x's horrible reciprocity failure (about a 2 min exposure)

Adam, you have found the right place for the success of this statue with buildings around :)

Beautiful effect of space

I hit this guy once again last week...for the third time...

Is the third time a charm, or positive evidence that I have finally gone insane ???   :)

Adam,

nice angle !

Could you rent a MF panoramic camera and try a similar shot with the lower part of the statue / street scene included?!

Or try a 15mm on the M3 ?

My 2 cents, JM.

No need for a panoramic camera, you can just hand hold and shoot from the ground up and stitch in photo merge

Nice idea, Jean Marc. Thanks for mentioning it. I agree that an even wider perspective could meaningfully rnhance the POV of this shot. But i shot this with my Hassy SWC which is pretty wide at an effective 35mm FL of about 20mm. I think you'd need a 15mm or more to get a meaningful difference. And the 6x6 film is, to me, better to have than the bitnof extra POV as it will make a larger print with better resolution and tonal range.

There are MF lenses out there that would get me much better POV, but to me not worth the squeeze. Besides, i have to give this guy a break from me! :)

I didnt know stitching film scans was possible? How so? Do you need PS or can this be done in LR? I think that with a shot like this with serious POV distortion it would hard to acheive a reasonably seamless stitch as even very slight movements in the position (which very much is not level) of the camera will vary the degree of distortion.

I am keen on learning about stitching film scans if it indeed possible with having to get a diploma :)
