I think you'll be very happy with the Coolscan James. I have the V which was a small update from the IV and find that it delivers excellent results, like your photo shows.

Very cool effect on the last one, almost like a black and white water paint.
 

I love film when it goes wrong. No editing on this one at all. 
 
End of the roll and poor fixing by the looks of it but then, hey presto, Impressionism!!!!  :)

Looking back to late Spring 1987 (!).  Two views of Concarneau harbour/marina.  Fuji 100 & Pentax ME Super.  The negatives do not seem to be showing their age - unlike me...
