As colour seems to be all the rage today:

Portra 400@200

Hasselblad H1 80mm

Not cropped from 6x4.5 to mimic the 6x6 it just worked with the composition.

Yes I did do a HCB and wait for the figures to enter the frame.

I love Portreath. I've never laid down to photograph it though. Great perspective.

I agree with Trev, very eye-catching image with bright crisp colour. And there is, imho, nothing wrong with waiting until people are compositionally where they belong. The photographer knows best :)

Btw, how does the H series handle with film magazines - like the V or differently?

Hey everybody I am new to this thread I posted some pictures on their own individual thread and was directed to this one here are those pictures. My main camera is a leica m6 classic with a 50mm voigtlander nokton 50mm and the camera used on the last two is a minolta srt202. I also have a question, has anybody tried cinestill 800? I have been interested in trying it

Actually neither did I  ;) At that end of the beach there are steps down so you rest the camera on the floor and stand upright for this shot. That coast is rather special I'll post another from last year, we stayed just a bit further up at Mawgan Porth, giving it a miss this  year I can't face the traffic again although the bottle neck at Bodmin is being sorted at last.

Sometimes I wish I was commercial and could direct then though!!

The backs are great, easy to load built in dark slide, and imprinting available. Only problem I have had is the CR123 that drives it although they last a long time and are supposed to show the power level I have twice had a battery give up mid-roll and that confuses the camera and the back. The roll is toast, no rewind, unless you have a spare and can resort to the darkroom to get it out without loss. Very rare though.

The H is of course very different from the V in all handling aspects, I usually say the only thing they have in common, other than the name, are the two notches in the film gate, kudos for keeping that.

You can pick them up complete for £1,000 which has to be a bargain. Should the urge take they will accept a di****l back.

For Steve W....

Reservoir Lake, Central Park, NYC

EKTAR

The best film (on the market today) for this scene.... ;)

attachicon.gifektar.jpg

Ektar is unmatched in C41 land for pictorial scenes, it my faourite C41 film for 35mm.  Whether it's "the  best film" depends on your  final intention for the images.

I disagree with your statement because you've  omitted "C41" from between 'best' and 'film'.  Nice image with a few blocked shadows at monitor level and I'm sure it would make a nice print up to a reasonable size.

Why don't you get yourself down to WPPI in Las Vegas with your portfolio next week and seek out a professional review of what you are doing.  A friend of mine (Peter Ellis) is judging there and would be happy to give you a worthwhile critique.

You seem to have an idea of where you want to go with this.  If you can put your opinions on film, cameras and your images aside and listen with a receptive mind (key!) to someone who is able to deliver,  I think it would benefit you greatly in getting to the next level. :)

Retropan 35mm 320 @250

3.5cm f1.8 Nikkor S on S3

Pyroocat HD Semi stand

Bedruthan Steps is a 200 acres Site of Special Scientific Interest,  (SSSI) designated for its geological and biological interest in 1951. It is noted for its slates and fossils from the Middle Devonian period, various mosses and beetles.Bedruthan Steps is also a Geological Conservation Review (GCR) site because it is a ″source of rare fish specimens″ which were first reported in 1848 by W Pengelly.

Out of interest that was a roll end so this was on the next roll, same developer, same tank actually, on Fomopan 100 @100. Great lens BTW.

Eoin's Saga, Part 2:

Adam and his Ektarplasm reinfected me with colour. I haven't used colour film since the 1980's (and that was nearly all transparency). What have you done to me, Adam?

Eoin's Saga, Epilogue:

I did, however, find out what happens with colour film when you are so used to B&W photography that you forget to take a yellow filter off when you swap lenses. I feel like I've invented Lomography a few decades after the other lot.
