Hello Keith,

That is a really nice photo #11641. It is a shame it is so big that a person can't see the entire photo all at 1 time.

Is there any way to make the photo a little smaller so a person can see the entire photo at once instead of having to scroll up & down to see it in pieces?

Best Regards,

Michael

??? It is 950px high which is the same size I always post portrait images and (at least on my iMac 21.5") sits (just) within the forum layout better than #11654.  So I am  little puzzled.

Keith, a lot of displays have 1080px vertical resolution or lower (a 13" Macbook, for example, has an effective vertical resolution of 800px) and that doesn't take into account the browser "chrome" (the buttons, toolbar, tabs, status bar, etc.). I have no problem viewing your photograph on my 23" desktop display but I wouldn't be able to view it without scrolling on my 12" MacBook or 13" MacBook Air (resolution of 1440px x 900px).

I have posted a number of images of Brantôme in this thread - here is another I just found lurking untouched on the hard drive. View of the Abbey alongside the River Dronne.  M7, C-Sonnar 50mm, Acros 100.

wow, very dramatic, Keith.  One of your best of late, IMO.  Great tonal range and use of contrast.

In Lower Manhattan, morning commuters need to deal with disgusting steam arising from the ground due to significant ongoing construction...

love it, Marc.  When were you there?

Thank you Adam! I was there in 2014 and 2015 and will go again this year. There are so many things to see and the people are extremely friendly and helpful.

best wishes

Normally, B&W every time for me Henry, but I saw this shot the other day, and wondered what the ground was, snow even, or what?
The colour shot tells me it's a mixture of rocks and grass, so in this respect the colour shot wins.

Still like the mono shot though.

Gary white spots in b&w are stone

As I said above a very wild region with only stone and some land

That's why people love Ardèche . A place I recommand you ... with a camping car.

Wonderful landscapes :)

Not much rain, hot and dry in summer and very cold in winter

Best
