Telegraph poles and fog and snow and XP2 and T2... and this is with the T2 set to its maximum exposure comp of +2.

On later pictures I've started adding another +1 of exposure using my very simple Camera+ app. I usually only edit photos to straighten horizons or occasionally crop, so this is a new departure for me.

Results are below...

I made 3 vows some 10 years ago when I went self-employed - 1) never work in West Africa/ Iraq/ Afghanistan, 2) never go into Starbucks at the weekends or school holidays and, 3) never join Facebook.

Now I can say I have broken all my vows (well only 2 out of 3 of 1)). I look forward to my pending request being accepted. And I have also joined a darkroom group ! I don't know how I will keep up with it all. Going analogue involves an awful lot of digital ...

I've worked in west Africa and Afghanistan, but not in Iraq. I don't go to Starbucks on any day, generally, and I joined Facebook in order to monitor what appears on my kids' sites, but don't post myself. Looks like I'm largely failing your vows, also.

Winter in Iceland, the botanical garden in Akureyri. Not the best time to spot the arctic vegetation, but in summertime it's a really nice garden!

There are two things I like about the winter months (I don't like much else about them): the low sun provides nice long shadows even early in the afternoon (in fact most of the day during December) and the bare trees give the landscape a different dimension.

Martinstown church, a week or so ago. Tmax-100 and 35 Summicron.

Trees seem to be popular today :)  This one is from my latest roll of HP5+ (M7 & C-Sonnar 50mm). An old oak that is well past its prime at Westonbirt Arboretum.  Taken on a lovely sunny late January morning.

Good excuse for some more trees (maybe a mini-theme of the day?). An old pollard in one of the outlying 'exclave' woods of Epping Forest. A bit past its prime too. :D

Tri-X.
