This reminds me of that Planet Earth episode with the bizarre Tibetan Fox and Attenborough's comment "But why the square head?" On a more serious note, Diafine is one heck of a developer which gives very easy-to-scan negatives.

I'll bet that Vivian Maier would wish that she could have taken that photo... :)

From Central Park looking south

Nice Adam -- but I hate that new apartment tower....so ugly and out of place and for what is essentially a too tall post office box for non-US residents. Perhaps someday it turn into something that add the city's economy other than what it adds during construction.

Incidentally, I'm now winding my XP2 down (I bought a big block a couple of months ago, ready for my switch to Ilford HP5.

Been experimenting with night low light street (no flash, not to scare the wildlife) and whilst a combination of modest pushing, film exposure latitude, wide lens, wide aperture, and forgiving film (sometimes) works, the reality is that XP2 doesn't float my boat when the majority of the picture's in black.

Might take a while, but shall revert back here with my efforts later on.

I would throw Tri-X into the mix; you might find the HP5 to be too grainy and have less resolution than Tri-X, no matter the latitude.  I look to the HP5 for those classic old world shots and also for fog.  But for the regular street shooting it doesn't give me the clean details that I look for.

Just my 2 pence...

we spent our recent honeymoon on the Faroe islands and due to going by car I opted to shoot medium format slides with my Pentax 645N instead of bringing the smaller, lighter Leica gear.

Provia 100F scanned on a Plustek OpticFilm 120 (what a superb machine this is!). Flickr introduces some sharpnening and I sized it down somewhat for the upload, but I think the quality is still visible.

Really nice, Adam! You picked a great spot for this one. That city view combined with the foreground waterfowl is superb.

You can even see the Pan-Am, um, MetLife building in there…

Sincere thanks, James.

Here are a couple of more for consideration....

Tmax 400 with a red filter for dramatic effect (and the branches creeping in to fill the dead space in the sky and somewhat mimic the specks of the ducks below)..
