Doc Henry Posted November 12, 2015 Author Share #7818 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Cool… the flowers here look almost in 3D, and the colors of Superia are very intense. James Hi James, As you know here , I love nature. The poppy is an absolutely beautiful flower, I photographed with my 2 M digital cameras , and also with my 2 M analog every years. The "edge" of the flower is much more natural with a beautiful color of poppy and without correcting in film than in digital image. The "smooth" edge of the flower with digital, gives the image too "synthetic" , too "incisive",too "sharp" and not natural IMO. This is also one of the reasons why I leave now my digital 2 M in my bag and use them only as back up cameras. In addition , the reproduction on paper silver color at my lab Leica center is even more beautiful. Thanks for your comment James Best Henry Edited November 12, 2015 by Doc Henry

Thanks for your comment James Best Henry .... an illustration of what I mean: too "incisive" edge, too "sharp" edge because of the "smoothing" by the camera software ,with the result that it is too thin petal of the flower like cigarette paper . In the film , grains do not do that and there is a certain thickness which is more natural ! , also due to 3 layers in film (RGB) and a single layer for the sensor. I remind you that I have studied this phenomenon since I photograph poppies ie 6 years now in digital and film, particularly highlighted in contrejour ... and as I like to photograph in contre jour , you now understand why I photograph poppies in film.
