ho_co Posted May 27, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted May 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm not affiliated with this site and have nothing to gain by mentioning it, but they are selling a chart of the recent history of cameras (since 1888) illustrated by individual models, a bit reminiscent of the "Leica Family Tree" posters we've grown familiar with. Â I'd quibble with some of their choices (why include the Minox C but not the Riga Minox/Minox A?) but it's an interesting assemblage. One quarter-plate camera, otherwise mainly roll-film, miniature and digital. Leica has several bodies on the poster, though strangely the site has chosen to represent the M9 by an image of the M9 Titanium. Michael Geschlecht Posted May 27, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted May 27, 2013 Hello Howard, Â Thank you. Â I did not notice either a Calypso/Nikonos or a Linhof Super Technika. As well as some others. Â Best Regards, Â Michael
AlanJW Posted May 29, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted May 29, 2013 If These are supposed to be iconic or landmark cameras, then there are many missing, and I won't get into that debate. But... How many of the listed cameras have people owned? For me the number is 9: Kodak Brownie Nikon F Olympus Pen Nikon SP Rollei 35 Polaroid SX-70 Canon 5D Canon 5Dii Leica M9 How many do you still own? For me, 2 (M9 and the Polaroid, which lives in a drawer) Which one do I regret selling the most: I think the Rollei 35. Â It would be interesting to see how others come out on this.
