Ingrid,

 

a lovely, very subtle image. The dream of of many associations is nicely being framed. I think the little touch of light fading even more and letting the center being the darkest part, is just right for this image. The skill to manage the dark shades is admirable.

Nice back lighting but the image itself lacks light !

 

 

I know, but it should be for me also thus - only one tender brighter side lighting

 

I like the light intimated colour nuances in the edges of the sheets - from pale pink up to the dark one violet...one recognises the form which rose sheets paint

 

but thanks for your time and your understandable criticism !

I stand by what I said up here.

 

Light towards the centre of the image would make a world of a difference. ..

As is, the light is throwing you out of the pic when it shouldn't !

as I already said, your thoughts are understandable for me - a rose is something miraculous and I understand what you mean

 

I am prepared to compromise and receptive and would take, perhaps, a nuance brighter....but a rose should also be allowed to be mysterious
