I was out walking and came across this display at the base of a tree and couldn't help thinking that it's the kind of arrangement people try to duplicate in flower shops. M8/35

The first image is pretty much right out of the camera, but I did a bit of work on it in this version. Any preference?

Hi Brent,

Both are wonderful images. However, In this case I prefer the first. Why?

Well, for my own images I go through apparently a similar process.

OOC JPG looks already very nice if exposed correctly.

But through processing one can enhance colors, take out some haze, make the image more vibrant and clear,

especially using clarity and "Image/Adjustment/Curves/Auto/Options" function.

But, in this process I typically also lose the attractive more natural appearance.

I then have a hard time picking a favorite version.

What is your experience?

Thanks.

I tend to agree. When I go through a series of functions to "enhance" an image, the end result is often a loss of the appeal the scene had in the first place. Like you, I prefer the more natural look.
