fotografr Posted May 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was out walking and came across this display at the base of a tree and couldn't help thinking that it's the kind of arrangement people try to duplicate in flower shops. fotografr Posted May 9, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted May 9, 2013 The first image is pretty much right out of the camera, but I did a bit of work on it in this version. Any preference? platypus Posted May 10, 2013 Share #6 Posted May 10, 2013 Both are lovely, equally, and an improvement on any flower shop arrangement.
k-hawinkler Posted May 10, 2013 Share #7 Posted May 10, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Brent, Both are wonderful images. However, In this case I prefer the first. Why? Well, for my own images I go through apparently a similar process. OOC JPG looks already very nice if exposed correctly. But through processing one can enhance colors, take out some haze, make the image more vibrant and clear, especially using clarity and "Image/Adjustment/Curves/Auto/Options" function. But, in this process I typically also lose the attractive more natural appearance. I then have a hard time picking a favorite version. What is your experience? Thanks. When I go through a series of functions to "enhance" an image, the end result is often a loss of the appeal the scene had in the first place. Like you, I prefer the more natural look. tmldds Posted May 10, 2013 Share #9 Posted May 10, 2013 First one for me, Brent. Oftentimes, the imperfections are best left alone. In a way, color photos are more difficult to process than B+W.
