The African gray parrot was among several birds that do not belong in this country or climate, and at this street fair, perhaps the donations were to help stop trafficing in rare animals, and in saving some that wound up here. hten again, perhaps not.

Parrots are intelligent, colorful, and interesting companions and fortunately available from reliable breeders but their demand also makes illegal importation in appalling conditions continue. Nice picture and awareness raising.

A beautiful image of a Perroquet Gris du Gabon (Psittacus erithacus).

 

I had one in Kananga (Kasaï Occidental, Zaïre - now RDC) at the end of the '70. He imitated very well the voice of the lady who cleaned my house when she called my dog!
