when not shooting manual

I'm a new Dlux6 owner with extensive knowledge in photography....so I have a good idea how to make a photograph. What a cool little camera this is,packed with lots of automatic features..... iISO, auto ISO, iDynamic, iResolution, Stabilizer, Scene mode, Snapshot mode, Program mode to name a few.

With most automatic cameras I choose the biggest file size, set Mode to P, try to keep my ISO below 400 and think about the image....of course

Here's my question: Hows everyone setting up their camera, when not shooting manual? Are there things you have learned about the Dlux's likes and dislikes in terms of image quality, sharpness and ease of operation? I've read the instructions, shot several hundred photos of my neighborhood the backyard and my living room. There's a ton of great choices with this camera....I'm a big fan of learning from others.....What are your right choices?

Thanks for sharing
