Advertisement Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Hi wattsy, Take a look here Tim Ashley - 35mm FLE review. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
moomooranch Posted February 6, 2015 Share #62 Posted February 6, 2015 Hmm, this result doesn't seem to be all that surprising given the MTFs of the 35mm 'lux ASPH: Welcome, dear visitor! Full spec sheet: http://leica-camera.pl/files/2011/02/New-Summilux-M-35-mm-ASPH-Technical-Data_en.pdf MTF of the RX1's Sonnar: This is one of the reasons I went with the pre-ASPH 35 'lux instead, given that I shoot most often at f/8: the pre-ASPH appears to have similar sharpness/field flatness (perhaps even better than the pre-FLE version, except for the extreme corners), but with less distortion at this setting. lct Posted February 6, 2015 Share #63 Posted February 6, 2015 The Summilux 3.5/1.4 pre-asph does show some focus shift depending upon the calibration. My sample is set to be accurate at f/2.8 for instance and back focus a bit at f/1.4 and f/2. On the contrary, a well calibrated 35/1.4 FLE like mine does not exhibit the least focus shift at any aperture, on 3-D subject matters at least. I won't bore you with my sample pics but they are pretty obvious.
