M240 and Rayqual adapter

Hello, Friends;

I was hoping I could use my hoard of old Nikon F (manual focus) lenses on my M240. I therefore bought the Rayqual Nikon F to Leica M (NF-LM v3) adapter.

But my clever scheme failed disastrously. It appears to be something with this adapter that the M240 does not recognize. You can shoot perfectly well wit the Nikon lens, but only if you ignore the need to focus:rolleyes: Once you try to switch on the Live View in order to focus the lens you get an error message: No lens connected.

I also have the CV12 and CV15 lenses with Milich adapters and these work fine. I tried to switch lens detection to OFF, but that did not help.

A solution, anyone?

Thanks, HP

There is a quick alternative to scraping the paper off. Get a roll of christmas wrapping silver sticky tape or failing that white paper Dymo tape. Stick a little bit on the flat surface of the adapter mount, around where the LED's are - no need to be accurate. You will then find the LV will fire up. See photo below of Dymo tape on my body cap pin hole lens. Silver tape would be better as it is thinner than the Dymo paper tape.

Chris, Wilson;

you are quite right. It works fine when slipping a white paper between the black adapter and the lens detector window. I wonder why it does not work with lens detection switched off, but that is only of academic interest now.

Problem solved, THANKS!
