Luke_Miller Posted March 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Joe Demb sent me his latest idea on bouncing the SF-24D. Since the flash itself has no tilt or swivel capability I've been experimenting with various ways of mounting the flash to provide those movements. Joe has gone in a totally different direction. His add on 45 degree reflector is designed to reflect the SF-24D's flash output upward and to the right. With the SF-24D in my M9's flash shoe and the camera horizontal - I get a bounce from the ceiling above my right shoulder. If I rotate the camera counter-clockwise to take a vertically oriented shot - I get a bounce from the ceiling above my left shoulder. Pretty neat. I don't have to flip or reposition anything. Just take the shot. The reflector weighs practically nothing so the handling of the camera is unaffected. The photos below show the 45 Degree reflector on the flash. The version shown is a proof-of-concept model and any production version will likely be different. The landscape and portrait shots show the light the reflector produces. The only change between the two is the orientation of the camera. Welcome, dear visitor!
